Cloud Security Engineer

One of Boston’s leading pharma companies are looking to bring on board a Cloud Security Engineer to join their growing team as they look to grow out their cloud footprint.

The role provides you with the perfect opportunity to work for a company who are putting cloud first as they migrate. You will gain the opportunity to take lead on a wide variety of cloud migration projects whilst implementing security along the way.

You will work for an organization who are centred around training and development. From day one with the business they will identify areas for progression for you and this structured progression plan leads to very high retention rates for their staff

Responsibilities:

• Take full ownership of security outcomes related to applicable cloud platforms
• Identify, develop, and implement new preventive, detective, and corrective controls across one or more cloud platforms
• Manage pre-production cloud security reviews through manual and automated processes
• Evolve and maintain an in-house cloud security knowledge base
• Review, challenge, and escalate requests from Global Businesses and Functions for exemptions/exceptions from mandatory security requirements
• Actively participate in reviews of Architecture, Design, and Cloud Deployment Patterns for Global Businesses and Functions
• Collaboratively work with vendors, client staff, and contractors to implement and integrate vendor-provided Cloud Security solutions as required
• Drive continuous improvement of cloud security and automate processes to ensure predictable high-quality code and data
• Lead a small team of cloud security engineers
• Proactively research emerging threats and vulnerabilities to aid in the identification of cloud threats

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Cybersecurity or a related field
• Expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in one or more cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, or Alibaba Cloud
• Extensive working knowledge of software development tools and technologies
• Experience in system/infrastructure implementation and operations
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Thorough understanding of Agile working methodologies
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a cybersecurity
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Experience working with Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools would be beneficial
• Professional security-related certifications are a plus
