My client, a market-leading MSP, is looking for a Technical Support Technician to join a growing technology services organization supporting enterprise clients across the financial services sector.

This is a hands-on, onsite role where you'll work across IT support, networking, server infrastructure, and physical data-centre environments. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to enterprise technologies including Cisco, Arista, HPE, and server hardware.

It's an excellent opportunity for a technically curious IT professional who wants to broaden their skill set and develop deeper experience across infrastructure and networking.

What you'll do:
Provide L1/L2 technical support across Windows, Microsoft 365, hardware, software, and connectivity.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers, including Windows Server environments.
Support server hardware, including hardware replacements, component troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco, Arista, HPE, and other enterprise networking equipment.
Carry out hands-on data-centre and server-room work, including racking and stacking servers and network equipment.
Perform server and network cabling, including copper/fiber connections, patching, labeling, and cable management.
Assist with the installation, replacement, relocation, and decommissioning of servers, switches, routers, and other infrastructure hardware.
Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, network devices, servers, and infrastructure issues.
Support infrastructure deployments, upgrades, migrations, maintenance, and hardware refresh projects.
Work alongside senior engineers on larger server, networking, and infrastructure projects across client environments.
Respond to onsite incidents and perform hands-on troubleshooting in MDF, IDF, data-centre, and client environments.
Maintain accurate technical documentation, hardware inventories, and service records.
Follow established change management, security, and operational procedures.

What you'll bring:
Experience in IT support, infrastructure support, networking, systems administration, or a related technical environment.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
Experience supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, servers, switches, networking equipment, or enterprise hardware.
Ideally, some hands-on experience with physical servers or server hardware, including installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, or component replacement.
Comfortable working hands-on with racking, stacking, cabling, patching, and physical infrastructure.
Exposure to Cisco, Arista, HPE, or similar enterprise technologies is highly desirable.
Any experience working in a data centre, server room, MDF, IDF, or other infrastructure environment is a strong plus.
Experience with server operating systems, virtualization, or storage technologies is beneficial.
Strong troubleshooting ability with a methodical and logical approach to resolving technical issues.
A proactive, adaptable attitude and genuine interest in learning new technologies.
Comfortable working fully onsite across client environments and handling hands-on technical work.
Ability to work well under pressure, communicate effectively with clients and engineers, and contribute as part of a technical team.

The opportunity:

This is a great role for someone who wants to build a well-rounded infrastructure skill set rather than remain purely within desktop support. You'll get exposure to servers, networking, data-centre operations, physical infrastructure, and enterprise client environments, while working alongside experienced engineers and having the opportunity to develop your technical career.
