Principal Technical Product Manager – Platform
Location: Hybrid (Atlanta or remote in Eastern States)
Department: Engineering / Product Management
Type: Full-Time
Overview
We’re building a modern engineering platform that empowers developers with intelligent, scalable, and self-service tools. Our goal is to remove infrastructure complexity so teams can innovate faster.
Role Summary
We’re looking for a Principal Technical Product Manager to lead the vision and roadmap for our platform’s core data and infrastructure services. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy and deep technical execution, focusing on creating seamless developer experiences for provisioning, managing, and scaling application backends.
You’ll work closely with engineers, architects, and leadership to define how we handle data and platform workloads at scale — driving performance, reliability, and developer productivity across the company.
Key Responsibilities
Define the Vision: Develop and own the multi-year roadmap for platform services and data infrastructure.
Understand Developers: Partner with internal teams to identify pain points and opportunities for improving developer experience.
Drive Delivery: Translate complex technical requirements into clear product roadmaps, user stories, and priorities in an agile environment.
Champion Adoption: Promote the platform across teams through documentation, best practices, and training.
Manage Product Lifecycle: Evaluate new technologies, oversee service upgrades, and plan the retirement of legacy systems.
Measure Success: Track key metrics like reliability, performance, cost efficiency, and developer satisfaction.
Collaborate Broadly: Work with stakeholders in security, finance, and engineering to align technical solutions with business goals.
What You’ll Bring
5+ years of product management experience, ideally building developer or platform products (APIs, infrastructure, data services).
Strong technical background — hands-on experience with software engineering, site reliability, or cloud architecture.
Deep knowledge of AWS and cloud-native technologies (e.g., RDS, S3, DynamoDB, IAM).
Experience with various data technologies: relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), and in-memory (Redis, Memcached).
Excellent communication and storytelling skills — able to bridge technical and business audiences.
Strategic thinker with a customer-first mindset and passion for developer productivity.
Preferred
Experience presenting to or influencing senior leadership.
Advanced AWS knowledge or certifications.
Background in high-growth or enterprise-scale environments.
Strong collaboration skills across distributed teams and time zones.
Proven ability to balance strategy and execution under changing priorities.
