Technology Training Manager – Legal Environment (Multiple Locations)

Role Summary
A global professional services organization is seeking an experienced Technology Training Manager to lead the design, delivery, and evolution of technology-focused learning programs across a legal environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring attorneys and business professionals effectively adopt firmwide systems, tools, and emerging technologies.
The position partners closely with Information Technology, Innovation, Talent Development, and administrative leadership to embed technology learning into onboarding, professional development, and ongoing education programs. The successful candidate will oversee a geographically distributed training team and ensure consistent, high-quality learning experiences across regions.
This role may be based in multiple major U.S. office locations (Austin, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Boston, New York, San Diego, Palo Alto, Washington DC)
Key Responsibilities
Technology Training Strategy & Delivery
Build and execute a comprehensive technology training approach aligned with business priorities and legal practice needs.
Develop role-based and practice-specific learning programs using a mix of instructor-led, virtual, and self-directed formats.
Ensure technology training is integrated into onboarding and ongoing professional development initiatives.
Monitor participation, learning effectiveness, and system adoption, providing data-driven insights to leadership.
Evaluate and implement learning platforms, tools, and delivery methods to enhance engagement and scalability.
Maintain compliance with continuing legal and professional education requirements, including tracking and documentation.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and support a global team of technology trainers across multiple regions.
Foster deep understanding of legal workflows and attorney use cases among training staff.
Encourage continuous improvement in instructional design, facilitation skills, and legal technology expertise.
Support performance management, hiring, development planning, and resource allocation.
Stakeholder Partnership & Communication
Collaborate with Learning & Development, Talent, IT, and practice leaders to align training with career pathways and competency frameworks.
Contribute to firmwide initiatives where technology enablement and change management are critical.
Create clear, effective communications that support system adoption and reinforce organizational culture.
Systems Expertise & Learning Content
Maintain strong working knowledge of core legal and business applications, including document management, collaboration platforms, practice management tools, document review systems, and AI-enabled technologies.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of learning materials such as job aids, guides, and digital resources.
Ensure training programs remain current as systems and legal technology continue to evolve.
Professional Awareness & Standards
Stay informed on trends in legal technology, learning design, and professional education requirements.
Participate in relevant professional communities and industry forums.
Uphold high standards related to confidentiality, information security, and professional conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required.
Prior experience in a law firm or legal professional services environment is essential.
Extensive experience in technology training, instructional design, and people leadership.
Demonstrated success delivering technology-focused learning for attorneys and legal staff.
Strong understanding of legal applications such as document management systems, productivity platforms, practice management tools, and emerging AI solutions.
Experience building training programs across litigation, corporate, and intellectual property practices.
Proven ability to lead distributed teams and ensure consistent delivery across regions.
Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Client-service mindset with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
Willingness to travel and accommodate flexible schedules when needed.
