An award-winning, fast-growing consultancy are looking to hire a Network Support Engineer within their dynamic, successful team. They have grown over 20% this year with plans for another 25% next year. This role will act as a springboard into the project team within 12 months and there will be a plethora of training, mentorship and certifications to get you there.
As a Network Support Engineer, you will be a key member of the support team and will be involved in providing 2nd level support and acting as an escalation point for the support desk team.
What you will be doing...
- You'll be responsible for swiftly escalating complex issues to the project team and vendors, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
- Your role will involve providing essential support for various network services, ensuring they operate seamlessly. You will be the go-to person for troubleshooting and resolving network faults, utilizing your in-depth understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software components.
- Taking your technical prowess to the next level, you will provide advanced, 2nd level support for both fault resolution and change requests.
- You will also be instrumental in managing change requests, facilitating the seamless integration of new technologies and configurations.
- You will meticulously document all cases, from initial problem identification to final resolution.
- Working closely with the project team, you will contribute your technical insights and expertise to design, implement, and deploy network solutions.
What you will need...
- Proficiency in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues.
- Experience with 2nd level support and change management in a network environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with project teams, vendors, and colleagues.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to thorough documentation practices.
- Project management experience and familiarity with project lifecycle processes is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) would be advantageous.
