Our client work within professional services and are looking to recruit into their security team. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a talented and driven Security Operations Engineer to join their dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Security Operations Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and integrity of IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats, as well as implementing measures to safeguard systems and data. Your expertise will be critical in maintaining a secure environment and providing peace of mind to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and analyse security alerts from various sources (SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection systems).
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
• Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures.
• Perform regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests.
• Implement and manage security tools and technologies to enhance our security posture.
• Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all aspects of our operations.
• Conduct security awareness training for employees to promote a culture of security.
• Stay up to date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a security operations or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of security principles, techniques, and technologies.
• Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
