Cloud Architect

My client is an established and well-regarded business with its HQ in Atlanta, Georgia. They are looking to recruit a Cloud Architect to assist with the maintenance and design of the cloud computing infrastructure within the business. This individual will be responsible for providing technical and architectural guidance in areas such as front-end platforms, servers, storage, and networks. They will also be tasked with creating and implementing governance and strategies for cloud systems. Collaboration with IT and other business units will be necessary to evaluate and meet the cloud requirements of the business. Strong communication, multitasking, and forward-thinking abilities are essential for this role.



Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Developing strategies and policies for cloud governance that align with the company's current environment.
Evaluating and assessing the current cloud applications and hardware deployed in the environment.
Providing technical direction for the design and development of enterprise cloud architecture services and components.
Collaborating with IT security to ensure proper review and approval of cloud architectures, and addressing vulnerabilities as necessary.
Participating in discussions with enterprise architecture teams to evaluate new cloud technologies and strategies.
Providing guidance to IT development groups on supporting business applications with current cloud technologies and identifying changes or additions to the current architecture to support future needs.
Designing and delivering ongoing education for IT staff on the use of cloud architecture utilities, modules, components, and processes.
Creating and maintaining documentation and knowledge repositories for sharing with IT departments and business partners.
Leading successful change management communication by collaborating with the OCM and IT teams within the organization.




Skills and experience:

Ideally over 5+ years of experience in cloud architectural design and support, IT operations, and IT architecture and expert-level knowledge of public and private cloud integration into the environment, with Professional Cloud Architect certifications as a desired qualification.
Ability to define guidelines, rules, and standards for enterprise cloud architectural decisions by participating in the development of guiding cloud architectural principles and strategies.
Ability to apply expertise and experience in IT infrastructure and application development to make key technical cloud recommendations on systems and technologies, taking into account the current infrastructure and existing/emerging technologies.
Excellent communication across business departments and IT development groups to maintain an understanding of how technology is used in business systems and to stay informed of future business direction for cloud strategy.
Working with Information Security, Infrastructure, and IT Application development departments to establish appropriate standard cloud strategies for each applicable infrastructure and application case and ensuring architectural processes are followed and integrated into existing processes.
Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, Google, and AWS and the ability to design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure, with extensive knowledge of cloud computing, architectural design, and implementation, and cloud operational support.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including analytical and problem-solving skills, timely decision-making abilities, the ability to multitask and prioritize assignments, strong interpersonal and customer service skills, self-motivation, and the ability to see the long-term vision.
