A leading insurance business are looking to expand their hybrid Security team with a Security Engineer. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure that safeguards the organization's digital assets. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the systems and applications adhere to the highest security standards, protecting against potential threats and vulnerabilities.
What you will be doing...
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks and vulnerabilities in our systems, networks, and applications.
- Design and implement robust security solutions, leveraging firewalls, encryption, and state-of-the-art technologies to defend against cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish effective incident response plans, ensuring swift and precise action in the event of a security breach.
- Monitor security logs diligently and conduct regular audits to proactively identify and address security issues.
- Work closely with software development teams to integrate security measures throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, emerging threats, and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance our security posture.
What you will need...
- Proven experience as a Security Engineer or in a similar role, demonstrating expertise in securing complex systems and networks.
- Thorough knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies, including experience with MS Defender and Sentinel.
- Familiarity with cloud security, web application security, and mobile security is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) for automating security tasks is an advantage.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR, and their implementation is beneficial.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Managing vulnerability scanning tools to identify security risks in Azure environments.
