St David’s Day 2018 marked the arrival of Franklin Fitch in Cardiff, so we thought it would be a good time, 12 months on, to reflect on the past year partnering with businesses and individuals in Wales and the South West.
We caught up with Lewis Andrews who was ‘Team Member #1” for our Cardiff office which has big ambitions for the future.
What have been your highlights for the office in its first 12 months?
“I can’t actually believe it’s been a year! It’s been a whirlwind to say the least. We have had the challenges of opening and running a physical office whilst at the same time supporting companies looking for infrastructure talent and meeting those looking to make career moves.
The last five months we have turned over a profit which is great for what is effectively a start-up operation, but I am most proud of the relationships we have built.
87% of the businesses we have worked with over the past 12 months have engaged with us more than once to help find them talent. We’re a business built on partnerships, so this is something that we place a huge amount of value on.”
It can’t have been easy?
“Not at all. When we started, we had limited exposure to the market in Wales and the South West so establishing the brand has been a challenge. All the team (other than myself) had no recruitment experience prior to joining Franklin Fitch so we have had to train people from scratch.
We’re fortunate to have the support from our offices in London and Frankfurt though and this has helped a lot to get us to the great position we are in today.”
And what’s in store for the future?
“Grow, grow, grow! The first year has already seen us outgrow office number one and we currently stand at a team of four with one more person to join in the summer. Our vision is to develop into the leading recruitment business within the IT networking and infrastructure space in Wales and the South West and we can only do that by providing an ongoing exceptional service and growing our team. So, if you’re interested in joining please get in touch!”
